Addisu Demissie and Junaid Jemal Sendi grew up in underprivileged families in the capital city, Addis Ababa. At the age of 10, they were noticed by the British-based dance organization Dance United, which set up, in partnership with the Ethiopian Gemini Trust, a 5 year comprehensive dance training program for 18 young people. Junaid and Addisu then performed on some of the most renowned stages in the world, including The Place and Sadler's Wells in London, but also in festivals and events across Europe and Africa, under the company named "Adugna". Their work has been internationally recognized through awards and prizes.
